Real Estate Tips for Selling Your Home

When deciding to sell your home/property, you need to be objective.  Step back and take a real look at the property.  Look at the property as though you are purchasing it.  What do you like and dislike about the home?  What would you like changed? 

Start with the outside of the property.  How does it look from the street?  What could be changed to enhance curb appeal?  Does the trim need painting?  How does the yard look? 

Once you move inside ask yourself these questions and note any repairs that are needed:

  • Is the house clean and free of clutter?  Clutter will make the house appear smaller. 
  • What shape are the walls in?  Do they need painting, dated wallpaper removed?
  • How about the floors?  Are the carpets clean or do they look worn?
  • Is the kitchen up to par?  Are appliances as clean as possible?  Counter tops free of clutter?  What about the floors? 
  • Bathrooms-What is your first impression when you enter?  Is everything clean and working properly?

Inspect your entire property, note any repairs or changes.  Have your property looking it’s best in order to get you the best sales price.
